Academic Language Therapy, or Dyslexia Therapy, is the most comprehensive approach to improving literacy outcomes for students with dyslexia.
Systematic
Academic Language Therapy progresses students from letter/sound connections and single, closed syllables to syllable type analysis, morphology, and spelling patterns & rules. Every element of how we read and write in English is directly taught and methodically practiced.
Prescriptive
Diagnostic and individualized to address each student's unique learning needs. Areas for reading and spelling improvement are specifically targeted to improve accuracy and automaticity.
Multisensory
In each lesson, students spend time actively engaging in the five essential elements of literacy: phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Students also work on strengthening their handwriting, oral expression, and written expression.
